With a 32 million player audience, American Express hope that fans of the hugely successful franchise will appreciate the payment company’s latest outreach. As well as being decorated with designs from the game, signing up to the card will guarantee the owner 1,000 bonus points to use when playing on “League of Legends.” An additional 1,000 points can be accessed after loading $20 (£13) onto the card, and further added for their first 10 purchases made with it.

These points work in the form of virtual currency, allowing game-players to pay for extra features such as new champions, skins and boosts. American Express hopes that offering users large quantities of these points for free will work as an incentive for new customers.

The American Express “League of Legends” debit card will be available from Wednesday (14^th August).
